Message from David, President of the OPGA Committee
As we wrap up another vibrant term, I’m happy to share some of the highlights from across our OPGA community.
We kicked off the term with a memorable Peninsula Milestone Reunion, beginning with a nostalgic school tour and culminating in a fantastic gathering at The Royal, Mornington. It was a joy to reconnect and celebrate shared memories.
We also welcomed back Steph Reid (’14), professional basketballer, who inspired our Middle School students as a guest speaker at assembly before leading a high-energy knockout competition on the Junior School courts. Steph's story left a lasting impression and the students loved playing alongside her!
Our Year 12 students benefited from a powerful LinkedIn and personal branding session led by Karl Lombardozzi (’04), equipping them with tools to step confidently into their futures.
This term, we’ve placed a stronger focus on storytelling, launching Wendy Leaver’s Spotlight on Alumni video, and sharing many more alumni journeys through our website and social media. These stories continue to inspire current students and fellow alumni alike—so please, keep them coming!
We’ve also filmed a special Spotlight episode on the introduction of girls to Peninsula, which will be released in Term 4—a must-watch.
It was a pleasure to attend the PGS Brownlow Breakfast, and we’re currently contributing to the 60th commemorative events honouring 60 years of Cadets at Peninsula, a significant milestone in our school’s history.
And finally, a huge congratulations to the Old Peninsula Football Club. The Pirates, after 45 years, triumphed in the Men’s Division 1 Grand Final against Ormond. What an incredible achievement!
Thank you for your continued support and connection. We look forward to seeing you in Term 4, there’s plenty more to come.
Warm regards,
David
