2025 Reflection - David Clarke
2025 has been another successful year for OPGA, filled with meaningful connections and memorable events.
The year began with the school’s AGM, where the council reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening alumni and community engagement. We were delighted to welcome our new principal, Mrs. Leandra Turner, who has attended various reunions and committee meetings. Her enthusiasm and support have been invaluable.
Foundation Day in February remains a cornerstone of our calendar. It’s always inspiring to see foundation students return to commemorate Peninsula’s rich history.
One of the year’s highlights was the Past Staff Reunion, featuring Mrs. Turner as our special guest. Attendance exceeded expectations, and we hope to carry this momentum forward into 2026.
The Royal Hotel continues to be a favorite venue for our off-site reunions. This year, we celebrated milestone reunions for Years 5, 10, 20, 30, and 40. These events were beautifully complemented by archival materials curated by our talented archivist, Becca Smith—thank you, Becca!
Our committee remains dedicated to the Memorial Garden Project, which the school acknowledges as a priority. Plans are underway to integrate this into the future Chapel precinct development as part of the school’s Master Plan.
A heartfelt thank you to our committee members for their service this year: Laura Vatousios (Liaison Officer), Ian Cockle (Treasurer), Darren McLoed (Vice President), and our wonderful general committee.
