Spotlight on Alumni - Kate Wilson, Class of 2002.
From fashion to skin health, Kate Wilson’s career has been anything but conventional. After studying a Diploma of Fashion Design, she built a strong career in wholesale and retail buying, working with some of Australia’s biggest fashion brands across Sydney and Melbourne. But during the pandemic, she had time to take a step back and then realised her true passion, skin health and science.
Kate embraced the challenge, balancing full-time study, part-time work and family life to earn her Bachelor of Dermal Sciences at Victoria University. Now, she’s a Dermal Clinician at Bare Laser and Skin, helping clients achieve their skin goals with advanced corrective treatments.
Her biggest lesson? Careers don’t have to follow a straight path.
"It’s okay to reassess, pivot, and take steps toward what truly excites you. Growth happens when you step out of your comfort zone and commit to learning, even when it’s difficult".
Now settled bayside with her husband Tom and their two children, Olivia and Leo, Kate hopes to inspire others to follow their gut, embrace change, and evolve, both personally and professionally.
